A few years ago someone asked the question “What Would Jesus Do?” It became a very popular rubber wrist band. I realize that it was asked with the intention of inspiring those who claim to follow Him to walk and do things the way He did them. But did it truly have this outcome? I liked the question but answered it with another question that I hoped those who wore the wrist band would consider:

“Why don’t we know what Jesus did?” and secondly “Why don’t we do the things Jesus did, yet we do things Jesus did not do?”

These questions and others are causing believers to discover some things about why we worship the way we do around the world. It is hopefully provoking us to get back to the Word of God and actually read it and study to learn the “Who, what, when, where and whys” of scripture.  When we do we’ll make some interesting discoveries.

Hebrew Roots is the self evident  term that describes the beginnings of our faith. If you want to know something about anything it’s always good to go back to the beginning. Just like in learning to understand creation we look to Genesis. To begin to understand Christianity we also must go back to it’s genesis or beginnings. This is a simple truth in learning scripture as well. Most of us have learned the New Testament as new believers and sadly have been taught that’s all there is to our faith. Many have taught that the Old Testament is a good historical resource but not applicable or relevant to the New Testament believer. Nothing could be further from the truth. Many Bible prophesy teachers today pour through the Book of Revelations to try to learn what will be occurring in the world we live in and when the return of Jesus will be, yet scripture says in Isaiah 46:10, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure,’

If you’re hungry and thirst after righteousness Olive Oil Ministries can help you discover many of these things and learn just how Jesus walked, why He did the things He did and what it means for us as His followers.
